The Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education was founded in 1973 to resource, encourage, and support professors who teach evangelism in seminaries, theological schools, and universities. The Academy holds a yearly meeting that serves to explore cutting edge issues and trends in evangelism and the teaching of evangelism today. The 2013 annual meeting will be held in Wheaton near Chicago June 20-21, at the same time as the annual meeting of the Association of Professors of Mission, and immediately before the annual meeting of the American Society of Missiology, which AETE members are invited to attend. The Academy also publishes yearly Witness: The Journal of the Academy for Evangelism in Theological Education. Scholarly articles are written and peer reviewed for the benefit of teachers, students, and practitioners of evangelism.
